We've held our first landlord forum
We held our first Landlord Forum, at the Bristol County Cricket Ground yesterday.
The forum invited private landlords to come along and discuss the private rented housing market in the South West, with a focus on housing people on lower incomes.
The meeting was an excellent platform to share collective knowledge as well as discuss concerns and solutions with other landlords. It was also a good opportunity for us to further explain our new landlord service and explore the service landlords in Bristol are looking for.
Michael Parsons, our Private Sector Engagement Officer, said ‘Our new service, working with private sector landlords, is focused on helping to move our residents from supported housing into suitable accommodation.
We now offer landlords a free and reliable service which will allow them to access new tenants quickly and securely. We’re committed to supporting our residents to create long-term homes and achieve their ambitions.’
The main focus of discussion at the forum was around the need to ensure that socially aware landlords are also able to achieve commercial viability.
It was agreed that, through services like ours and with careful tenant selection and a focus on maintaining long tenancies, this could be achieved.
Following the success of the forum, we plan to make the forum a regular event.
