We're bringing community colouring to Bath
We've teamed up with The Colouring Clinic to run a community colouring session in Odd Down, Bath on Saturday 2 April. The event will take place from 12pm until 8pm on the green space behind Fullers Way in Odd Down, known as The Wansdyke. The session is open to everyone of any age, and can cater for up to 200 people during the event.
People will have the opportunity to get creative, colouring in large community illustrations designed by the artist Samuel Lindup. Pete Davies, our Community Empowerment Manager, said “It’s really important that people feel happy, safe and settled in their communities and our role is to help make this happen. We regularly speak to our residents and communities, to understand their priorities and aspirations, and work with them to make positive changes that have lasting impacts. The Colouring Clinic is an interactive and fun way to bring the community together, to encourage people to talk to us and to each other, and to share ideas. The idea for the event itself came from one of our residents.”
The Colouring Clinic originated in Bath and was started by Boost Creative Agency and Samuel Lindup, to facilitate communal art. Annie from Boost Creative Agency said, “The colouring idea inspired us to make an installation that encourages communication. In our Colouring Clinics, we see people from all walks of life who share a common interest in art and creativity, getting together and feeling good. We hope to see lots of local people and families on the day, ready to get creative and inspired.”
