Double award scoop for our latest veteran development and income management programme #24awards
Hooray! We're celebrating the success of our teams at last night's 24 Housing Awards held in Coventry.
We were shortlisted for three awards - Welfare Wise, Care and Support Provider of the Year, and Affordable Development of the Year - which showcased some of the best work in the sector.
Following a nail-biting start the ceremony, with presenter Mark Dolan handing out awards for Best Green Scheme, Best Training Scheme, and Community Achievement, the first of our triumphs was our Income Team being crowned winner of Welfare Wise.
James Reseigh, our Tenancy Services Manager, was delighted. He said: "It's all down to the hard work of our amazing team, who wholeheartedly deserve the recognition for supporting residents to manage their income."
After a short break, the final winners were revealed. Our Somerset Integrated Domestic Abuse Service were pipped to the post for Care and Support Provider of the Year, with the accolade going to Ashely Community Housing for its work supporting refugees. A worthy winner!
The penultimate award to be handed out was the coveted Affordable Development of the Year. Our veteran train-and-build scheme, Poppy Court was shortlisted against six of the best affordable builds to complete this year... and we won!
Director of Development and Homeownership, Steve Blake, was thrilled with another win for our team. He said: "It was a fantastic result for a fantastic scheme, offering much-needed affordable homes and support to former forces personnel."
All in all, a great evening. Well done to our teams!
