You don't have to spend a fortune on the latest software - there are lots of free options available! Find out more by clicking on the links below:

Open Office – this is a great little bundle which includes a word processor, spreadsheet tool, database, presentation tool and publishing software! All of these are fully compatible with Microsoft products

Google Docs – this provides a useful internet-based office suite including, a word processor, spreadsheet tool, presentation tool and database. Unusually, these tools can be used collaboratively which means that more than one person can work on the same document at the same time!

CloudOn – this has a version for Apple and Android users. It lets you work with office documents on your tablet or smartphone

Comodo – this is a useful virus checker

VLC – this is a media player for playing many video, audio and music files

Gimp – despite its name, this is a high end photo editing and graphic design package!

Pixlr – this is an internet-based photo and image editor. This means you can use it anywhere (as long as you have an internet connection!)

Audacity – this lets you record and edit music and audio files

Google services – this provides a number of internet-based tools including gMail, a calendar that links with your email, and Drive which gives you somewhere to store and collaboratively edit documents.
