What is a Resale shared ownership home?

Resales are shared ownership homes which are already owned and occupied. They are available to buy because the current shared owner has decided to sell their share and move on. 

How do I register interest for a shared ownership home?

If you see a shared ownership Resale home being advertised, please contact the estate agent who will be able to provide further information on applying and book you a viewing. 

How do I apply for a shared ownership Resale home?

You will need to arrange to view the home through the Estate Agent before you can apply.

Once you have viewed, let the Estate Agent know you want to apply and they will provide you with a link to the application form. 

If you make an application, please note:

• Applications are considered on a first come, first served basis.

• On receipt of a completed webform, LiveWest will check that you meet the necessary criteria to access the shared ownership scheme, as set by Homes England, and that you appear to meet any relevant local connection, if applicable. 

• We will refer to the first eligible application to New Homes Mortgage Helpline. They will then make contact to undertake the qualification process. Once contacted by New Homes Mortgage Helpline, you will have 48 hours to submit the requested information.

If your application is successful:

1. We will contact you and advise that we can formally offer you the home both verbally and in writing. 
2. To accept the offer, you will need to complete the provided offer acceptance form and pay the £500 reservation fee. 
3. We will issue a Memorandum of Sale to all involved parties, so they can commence the legal process. 
5. If you are getting a mortgage, contact your broker so they can submit the full mortgage application.
6. We will need to approve your mortgage offer; your solicitor will need to provide us with a copy.
7. Your solicitor will advise you when they are ready for an exchange date. 

Completion:

The estate agent will help you and the seller deal with keys, on the day of completion.  

When we have been notified by solicitors that completion has happened, we will set up your rent account, contact you to set up your monthly direct debit and provide information on your monthly chargers and details of how to contact us.
