During March, we are celebrating our very own Disability Awareness month to raise awareness of disabilities and long-term health conditions.
Disabilities aren't always obvious or immediately apparent. As a result, the barriers that people living with disabilities face are sometimes overlooked. This can make it difficult for people to access the support that they need.
By raising awareness of disabilities and the challenges that people living with them face, we can support our colleagues and customers, creating more inclusive communities.
Therefore, throughout March, we are celebrating our colleagues and customers who are living with disabilities, raising awareness of barriers they may face and promoting accessibility services.
As well as sharing content on our website and across our social media channels, we are temporarily changing our logo on social media as part of the celebration. We want to highlight that disabilities can still be there – even if you can’t see them. So, during March, our logo on social media will be subtle and “hidden”, just like hidden disabilities.
Championing the voices of our colleagues who are living with disabilities, we are giving a platform to our colleagues to share their stories and raise awareness of their disabilities or long-term health conditions.
We will also be running informational webinars for our colleagues, educating our teams on disabilities such as Dyspraxia, and providing guidance on how to better support people who are living with these disabilities.
At LiveWest, we are committed to being fair and inclusive, supporting diversity and providing inclusion for all of our customers, colleagues and stakeholders.
We hope you will join us in celebrating this month, as we help raise awareness of disabilities, both visual and hidden, and encourage greater support for our customers and colleagues.
