Family fun on a budget

We’ll look at ways to have fun with your family, without it being expensive
Family Fun Budget

No matter the weather, keeping the family amused can end up being expensive. But, with some forward planning and savvy money-saving, you can have a good time without spending a lot.

So here are some tips for making your money go further:

  1. Explore family group deals. Group buying sites can offer big discounts for one day only. You can get great deals on attractions, holidays or family days out. Check out sites like www.littlebird.co.uk.
  2. Find free stuff to do. Go walking, go to the beach or a lake, go to a park or hunt out free activities and events which are happening near you. During the winter, there are many free activities around Halloween, Bonfire Night and Christmas. Local papers will usually advertise these events, so keep an eye on them.
  3. Stick to a budget. While it can be difficult to do, it’s important to decide on a budget and stick to it. Calculate your budget by being realistic about what you can spend.
  4. Search for barbeque bargains. Having a barbecue at a party can cost a host an average of £182. Cut down on these costs by signing up for food sales alerts from www.lovemoney.com. Every week a roundup of supermarket promotions is sent to your inbox, so you can cook up a great barbecue for less.

Get your sandals on in the summer, your wellies on in the winter, and have some fun outside. And if it’s a really rainy, cold day, stay in and snuggle on the sofa with a good family film!
