We recently held a consultation with residents of the Isles of Scilly to discuss our plans to develop affordable homes on the islands. It was fantastic to meet so many residents, and the feedback on plans and what affordable housing means to them was very useful.
Details of the proposed housing scheme
We have produced designs for an affordable housing development at the former secondary school site at Carn Thomas on St. Mary’s, and we are hoping to provide around 27 affordable homes.
There is a need for affordable housing on the islands to support infrastructure including care, education and important services such as refuse services.
All of our new homes have environmental considerations taken into account before development begins. Our goal is to maximise the energy efficiency of our homes.

If you were unable to come and discuss the plans at our event on 29 September, you can still provide feedback online.
