Fire Door Safety Week 2026 takes place from 21 to 25 September and is a national campaign that raises awareness of the vital role fire doors play in keeping people safe. Run by the British Woodworking Federation, the campaign encourages everyone to recognise potential problems with fire doors and report them so they can be put right.
Fire doors are designed to slow the spread of fire and smoke, helping to protect escape routes and giving people valuable time to leave a building safely. They also support firefighters by helping to contain fires to specific areas.
