Devon and Cornwall
Ilfracombe Carnival - 28 August
The Ilfracombe Carnival raises money for local charities, and is a fun evening out for the family!
Fistral beach clean - 6 August
Help to keep one of the most loved beaches in the South West litter free with a beach clean.
Falmouth Week - 5-14 August
Enjoy a range of events in the seaside town during Falmouth Week.
Foraging by the sea - 25 August
A workshop for the whole family about growing, foraging and slow cooking. Places are limited so register online with Treverbyn Community Trust.
Fowey Regatta - 14-20 August
There are plenty of family activities at one of the UK's most well-known sailing events.
British Firework Championships - 17-18 August
The much-loved annual firework championships return to Plymouth once again!
Buckfast Abbey Summer Fair - 4-6 August
The popular summer fair is back, with a wide range of activities and events to get involved with.
Butterfly Safari - 4 August
Learn about the endangered Marsh Fritillary butterfly, go for a butterfly safari walk and make a butterfly feeder that you can take home to help the butterflies in your own wild space.
Meldon Wildlife Festival - 23 August
Join Dartmoor National Park for a day of wildlife activities and nature crafts to take home.
Donkey Sanctuary - All summer (Devon)
Free entry means visiting the donkeys is a very popular day out.
Somerset and Bristol
Minehead Food and Drink Festival - 7 August
As well as the delicious food and drink, there is plenty of family entertainment on offer at the festival.
Free city farms - All summer
Free city farms are an amazing way to connect with nature!
Bristol International Balloon Fiesta - 11-14 August
Europe's largest hot air balloon festival is jam packed with activities for families.
Cribbs Summer Beach - All summer
A golden sandy beach, palm trees and water play fountains make this a great option for a hot day.
Frome Children's Festival - 21 August
The festival offers a wide range of activities and events to try out.
