A new home at the Bower Farm development on the outskirts of Bridgwater has provided a mum and her daughter with a welcoming place to live.
Fiona Lucas, who previously lived in Portsmouth, moved into her two-bedroom home in May last year after securing the property through LiveWest.
Prior to this, she had been staying in temporary accommodation with her 13-year-old daughter and was searching for somewhere they could truly call home.
Now settled in Bridgwater, Fiona says the move has made a life-changing difference.
Our resident, Fiona Lucas, said: “My mother used to live in the area about 20 years ago, she was very happy here, and although it’s changed, I felt a connection to the place. When the property came up, I applied straight away.”
“It’s made a big difference, I was in temporary accommodation before I came here, so this home has given us that feeling of safety and security. We feel very safe.”
Describing her new home, Fiona added: “It’s very nice, it really is beautiful inside. It’s cosy, welcoming and just a lovely house to be in.”
“The neighbours are amazing. From the beginning, everyone was so supportive, they said just let us know if we need anything. It’s a lovely neighbourhood where children play outside and people look out for each other.”
Located in a semi-rural setting, Bower Farm offers residents the balance of countryside living with easy access to nearby towns.
“It’s rural, but not too rural,” Fiona explained. “You’re not far from the shops, and you’ve got Taunton, Wells and Glastonbury close by. It feels quite central, which is perfect.”
Fiona also praised the support she received throughout the moving process.
“LiveWest have been really great. Any questions I had, they were there to help. The whole process, from finding the plot to completing the paperwork, was very smooth.”
Now enjoying her new surroundings, Fiona says she couldn’t be happier.
She added: “I couldn’t ask for more. It’s a beautiful, cosy home with a lovely cottage feel. The garden is beautiful, and it just feels like a very positive place to be.”
