Our fun-filled community event with a circus workshop and local firefighters

The community at Carvinack Meadows had a chance to show off their circus skills with our community event on the village green.

At Carvinack Meadows in Truro, the community came together on the village green for our community event.

The young people in the area thoroughly enjoyed our circus workshop to learn new skills and bring the community together.

With the sun shining and children playing football across the grass, our positive play event took place to encourage the whole neighbourhood to actively use the local green.

Mai Evans, our Community Connector for the area, said: “It was a really good day. I can’t believe how much fun the children had when the fire engine came along, and the sirens went off. It was great to see everyone joining in.

“There was this one girl I met who was amazing. She just so happened to be scootering past and ended up knocking on all the doors to get everyone involved and helping. She is definitely a bit of a Community Connector in the making.

“It was great to see everyone at the event as well as our shared ownership team to answer any questions.”

At our Carvinack Meadows estate in Cornwall, from shared ownership to rental, we have 35 homes.

Before the event took place, children from across the neighbourhood joined Mai to litter pick across the estate, which encouraged our younger residents to care for our environment.

With lots of children keen to get involved and help set up for the event, we had lots of our younger residents eager get involved and help run the day.

We also talked to the community about caring for our wildlife and protecting the trees across the estate.
