Sustainable homes, neighbourhoods and communities are at the heart of what it means to deliver a home for everyone.
As the largest social housing provider in the South West, we recognise our responsibility to improve and have a positive impact on the lives of our customers, our communities and our planet. We strive to maximise our social value, good governance and environmental responsibility.
Our ambitious new roadmap to net zero outlines our plans to increase our energy efficiency, reduce our carbon footprint and improve living costs for our customers.
Whenever possible, we will influence specifications and design to ensure that the new homes we build are sustainable.
We will work smarter and from office energy and electric vehicles through to our construction supply chain, we will create a greener future, together.
View the LiveWest roadmap to net zero, or learn more about our commitments to sustainability on our Sustainability page.
The launch of the roadmap coincides with our second annual Creating Greener Futures Together week – a week celebrating sustainability and promoting environmental responsibility amongst our colleagues and customers.
During Creating Greener Futures Together week (10 October to 14 October 2022) we will be sharing our sustainability ambitions and achievements, promoting eco-friendly living, and hosting competitions and events, such as our colleague clothes-swap event.
We are proud to have recently maintained our accredited SHIFT Silver award, following our second assessment. The SHIFT assessment measures how housing organisations are performing against over 22 environmental criteria, including CO2 emissions, water use, landfill waste and response to climate change.
