A weather warning has been issued by the Met Office this week for parts of the country, including the South West.
With high winds and heavy rain expected from Wednesday night (1 November) into the day on Thursday (2 November), there is potential for disruption, including power cuts and damage to homes from debris.

Power cuts
High winds can lead to power cuts. The National Grid have planning in place ahead of the storm, however you should:
- If you lose power, check the National Grid website to see if it has been registered, which will give you more information.
- Report a power cut to the National Grid if you experience one, using 0800 6783 105.
- Have torches ready. Please see our safety advice for candles if you plan to use them.

Flooding
Heavy rain could lead to flooding. You can check the status of flood warnings using the Government website, which provides advice on what you should do to prepare.
Reporting issues to us
Due to the damage storms can have we are expecting to receive a higher number of calls from customers due to damage to their homes. We thank you for your patience if you need to get in touch.
If you need to get in touch about an issue which is not urgent, please report this using our portal or by messaging us on social media. This will help us to prioritise customers who have an urgent health and safety problem due to the storm.
