Crisis and hardship grants - for individuals

Due to high demand for this grant, applicants will now be placed on a waiting list. Our teams are working through all applications as quickly as possible, and any applications received will be reviewed and responded to within 28 days.

Crisis and Hardship grants are available for LiveWest customers only who may be experiencing financial difficulties as a result of an unforeseen crisis or emergency.

Our Tenancy Sustainment team will talk to you about your situation and assess your financial circumstances to determine if there is any support they can give. They may require evidence of income or savings to help them to reach a decision.

The Crisis and Hardship grant programme aims to offer financial assistance where no other form of funding can be secured in a short period. Funding is a one-off payment that is intended to prevent an individual or family from moving into crisis or to cover an immediate need.

Our grants can help with
•    Food
•    Emergency energy top ups
•    Items which are a basic household necessity due to exceptional circumstances (e.g. a flood or fire in your home)

What our grants can’t be used for
•    Non-urgent costs and needs (please refer to the LiveWest Opportunity Fund Grants )
•    To cover any debts owed to LiveWest (including rent, personal service charges, rent in advance or the cost of recharged repairs)
•    General debts or loan repayments

Please note we cannot guarantee that applications for assistance will be successful.

If you are worried about paying your rent, please contact your Income officer. We will work with you to understand how we can help and can be flexible about collecting rent where that would make a difference.
